How to maintain hair extensions
Proper maintenance is the secret to long-lasting hair extensions. Getting them fitted is only step one; how you care for them at home dictates how long they will last.
Washing and Drying
Whether you have LA Weaves, Nano Rings, or Tape extensions, you must use a sulfate-free shampoo. Sulfates break down the bonds and strip the extension hair of its moisture. Avoid applying conditioner directly to the roots or bonds to prevent slipping. Always ensure your extensions are 100% dry at the root before sleeping.
Brushing and Sleeping
Brush them regularly with a specialized extension brush (like a loop brush or tangle teezer), always supporting the bonds at the root with your hand to prevent pulling. Before bed, sleep with your hair in a loose braid to prevent tangling and friction.
Regular Salon Maintenance
At our Basingstoke salon, we provide a comprehensive aftercare guide to every client. But you must return for your regular push-ups and refits. Ensuring that whether you live locally or travel from Dorset or Wiltshire, your extensions remain perfect and your natural hair stays safe.
